I’ve had the idea for a while to use old-school colors colors that might seem boring on their own to create something special by pairing them in an intentional way.
This is the third colorway I’ve made inspired by mid-century modern aesthetics, using only older boro colors. This piece has 25 sections, with Butter as the main color.
A lot of the colors in glass today are “sick” and “dope”super bold, high energy colors that grab your attention immediately. I love using those colors too, but with this series, I wanted to challenge myself to create something calmer and more timeless. Something classy. Something you can look at for a long time and just feel relaxed.
Those loud colors catch your eye right away, but they leave the mind in a state of excitement, searching for the next hit. I wanted this piece to do the opposite: to hold your attention quietly, and create a feeling that’s peaceful, warm, and lasting.
